The Man in the Mirror

Friends come and go. Throughout the years of our lives we meet many people. Some we take to quickly, yet others we prefer not to associate with; but that’s the norm of life.

Of those we do brush shoulders with, we often find that as time goes by so do our friends. Very few true friends will stick with us all our lives. In my own life, I have found that somebody who has stuck with me through thick and thin. No matter where life has led me, this friend has always been there. Sometimes this friend was pleased with my life, but often I found that friend did not really appreciate who I was through those dreadful times.

I know that we each have the same friend; It’s our very own selves. Yes, we cannot get away from ourselves, even though we may often wish we could. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “The only way to have a friend is to be one.”

This leads me to ask a question:

When you look into the mirror do you love that person? You should. Because you are a child of God. He loves you. You should love what He has done and continues to do for that person in the looking glass.

Before you condemn yourself for being this way or that, remember Who made you. Remind yourself that He is extremely happy with you.

If the Lord Is happy with who you are; who I am; why can we not be happy with ourselves. Remember we are never going to escape the person we are, so let’s accept ourselves for who we are and allow God to change us for the better.

You Lord

You are my Friend

You are my Saviour

You are the Son of God the Father

You are Jesus the Christ

You Love me and

You want me to love myself

As much as You do.
