In Genesis 1 we read many times: “And God Said…And God said…” Imagine this! God speaks and out of His Words worlds appear that were not there a few moments ago.
Now I can stand in my living room and look at the table and say, “Bring me a cup of coffee.” We all know nothing is going to happen. If I want that coffee I need to move to the kitchen, put the kettle on get a mug out and put the coffee, sugar and creamer into it.
But God had nothing: No kettle; no mug etc. He did not have any ‘tools in the workshop’ that He used to make heaven and earth. No. He did not even have a workshop! Out of His mouth, all these things were created.
The truth of that helps me to boldly come to Him with ‘big’ requests because we know that “One Word” from Him changes everything.
Genesis 1:
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image,
